My Favourite Artist.

In my spare time, I love to do art. Mostly, I enjoy painting than drawing. Someone who has inspired me is Leonardo Da Vinci.

He has painted one of the famous paintings in world history, The Mona Lisa. He also painted ‘The Last Supper’ which sold for 23.3 Million at a Sotheby’s Auction. The painting is an oil painting.

In case you're wondering, The Mona Lisa is valued at around US$850 Million in 2019. You would find the Mona Lisa displayed (Permanently) at the Louvre in Paris. The Mona Lisa is an Oil Painting.

Believe it or not, the Mona Lisa actually never got finished. Leonardo Da Vinci started the Mona Lisa in 1503 but never got to finish it.

My first day of Technology.

On Thursday, we went to tech. There are 3 subjects that we do there each term. There is Woodwork, ICT, and Cooking. I am in the Cooking Class with the other Year 8's in my class. I was teamed up with Asher. We made Corn Fritters using egg, flower, corn, and oil. I really enjoyed Tech because cooking is one of my hobbies however, the corn fritter's tasted like rubber.

My hobby: Surfing

Surfing and just being in the ocean is one of my favourite things to do. I like surfing because it’s fun to learn and I love being in the sea. I go surfing whenever I’m not busy or when the surfs up. I normally go surfing at Tokerau. I like to go surfing with my mum and with my friends.

What is this book about?  Percy Jackson's arch-enemy, Luke, is planning on invading Camp Half Blood using the ancient labyrinth maze. If his plan is successful, hundreds or even thousands of killing monsters will attack. So its hello darkness as the four hero's enter into the horrifying labyrinth.

Walt: work as a team.

Reflection: Yesterday we had another Team Building task to complete. Your team had to make a tower out of Marshmallows and skewers. I worked in a team with Arie, Manaia, Imogen and Eva. I found it challenging because the tower kept falling over.

Reflection: On Wednesday, our team building task was to catch a water balloon without dropping it. I was in a team with Eva, Arie, Lyric and Aneika. Your team could pass it any way you wanted. Each time someone caught it you had to take a step back. We had many strategy's but the one that really worked was throwing the balloon around in a circle. I thought it worked well because it was easier for the other person to catch.

Reflection: Yesterday, our class worked in teams to create a tower made from cups. However to make this challenge harder, we weren't allowed to use our hands. But with help from string and an elastic band, we could easily make the tower. (The cup tower in this photo is 8-9 cups high)
