How to solve multi-digit multiplication equations.

Today we had to make a poster on how to solve multi-digit multiplication equations. I was working with Kylah and Arie for this task.

How to solve multi-digit multiplication equations:

1. Take the 10 from 63. (60 x 8 =)
2. Next, take the 1 from 63. (3 x 8 =)
3. Add the answers together. (60 x 8 = (480) 3 x 8 = (24) 480 + 24 = (504))

Was there anything that didn't make sense? What could we do to improve our poster?

Mathematician Study

Mathematician study by Ella, Arie, Eva, and Kylah.

WALT: conduct a study on two famous mathematicians.

Today we had to choose two famous mathematicians. Our group chose Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton because we wanted to find out more on those mathematicians. We had to answer the questions that our teacher had set.

Questions about Makey Makey

Makey Makey – Makey Shop

Today we had to answer the following questions about Makey Makey. Some of our class had no clue what Makey Makey was and others did. I found answering the questions difficult because I'd never heard of anything called Makey Makey but I managed to find out that Makey Makey was something around coding and technology.

What do you already know about Makey Makey?

I have no clue what Makey Makey is but I think it is related around technology, coding and robots.

What are you most excited about learning with coding and robots?

I am excited about using the robots and learning how to code.

Do you think this will be a hard or easy task?

I think this task will be both hard and easy because some of our class are new to coding and others aren't.

Is there life in space?

Is there life in space? by Ella.

Today we had to make a poster or a slide to write what we think about 'is there life in space?' I worked individually and created my poster on Canva. We had to research more about space and what NASA had found out. I liked this task because I like researching about space.

Do you think there is life in space?

Saturn and Neptune

\

Today we had to make a presentation about two planets of our choosing. We all chose Saturn and Neptune. On the first slide we wrote facts about Saturn. The most interesting facts I found was that Saturn had 53 recorder moons. I didn't realise a planet could have that many moons. Next up was Neptune. The interesting fact in my opinion, about Neptune was that Neptune has 16 hours in a day and Neptune has six faint rings.

My favourite part about creating this was finding out facts for Saturn.

What was your favourite fact? What's your favourite planet?

Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei by Ella, Arie, and Eva.
WALT: create a summary of Galiloe Galilei.

Today we had to create a poster about a summary about Galileo Galilei. He created the first telescope. He discovered how the moon wasn't smooth; it was rocky. My favourite part in making this was adding the space images and reading about Galileo Galilei's story because it was interesting and I like reading stuff about space.

What do you think about space? Would you support Galileo Galilei?

Telescope Drawing - Digital

Today our class had to design a telescope. I was in a group with Kylah, Arie and Eva. We had two examples of a telescope; the one on the left is traced by a normal image. We used the curved tool. The one on the right was made from shapes. We designed these on Google Draw.

Have you made a telescope? If so, what materials did you use.
